Newspapers, articles, blogs, news reports; they all are reports of what is taking place in the world, true or false. They add an element of emotion to catch your attention, and honestly, they are quite good at it, true or false.
They know what you want to hear, and, honestly, they know what you don’t want to hear. They have made it their job to feed you based upon what their goal is.
You look for truth, or, rather, things that make you feel comfortable. When you don’t feel comfortable, you keep reading and searching some some type of information to bring you some sort of peace, something to get you through, a glimpse of hope.
There is no piece of information I’m this world that is going to fill that void and calm your soul except what lies with Jesus. No amount of information, or wisdom, is going to set your soul at ease except for Jesus.
The things you hear from the world are not going to bring you any closer to Jesus. In the Word of God, the Bible, we are told of many kinds of things that will take place before Jesus returns. Why do we continue to look to the world for information? Honestly, none of it is truly relevant other than it all has to happen.
Running to and fro between information here and there does nothing for our souls or even our bodies. What I does do is rob us of our joy. I understand this, because, well, I’ve done it too. We will never be prepared enough for what is coming.
Everything we need to know we can find in Jesus. You may be accused on earth, but those accusers do not have a say as to what takes place in your soul. Your soul cannot be taken from you, but you can willingly relinquish it if you aren’t careful. You are in full control of your soul until you give it to the devil. Let’s not do that; instead, offer your soul to Jesus who is full of grace and mercy. He brings you into the family of God to be co-heirs of our Heavenly Father’s inheritance.
I admit that I have been guilty of letting the news of the world get to me, but I’m taking my joy back! I still have of of life left in me, and so do you.
If you want to take back what belongs to you, the most powerful tool you have is a life in Christ. In Christ, you have the power to command devils. So, instead of letting the devil decide you any longer and steal your joy, look to Jesus and take your joy back.
Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) tells us,
For I am convinced that neither life or death, neither angels or demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height or depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I once heard someone say,
Even the devil has to do what God tells him to do.
You remember that when things don’t go exactly as you would like. Also remember Ephesians 6:12 (NIV),
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
If God is for us, then who can stand against us.
But you also must remember 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 (NIV),
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men [and women] of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. (Emphasis mine)
One note to a special friend: Thank you – and you know who you are – for helping me to see what I was doing to myself. Because of your encouragement, I can stand in the way that God wants me to.
Go forth and be blessed my friends.
