Nothing can…

Being a woman can be a difficult thing. Just take a look throughout history, and different cultures, and you will see how women have been treated, mainly to control them. I have known women who have been beaten by their fathers and their husbands. Women have been treated as trophies and yet treated as sex slaves. Women are the very many of individuals who have become a target to be treated as smaller that others. Let me be straight with you though; this is not a rant.

This morning, I’m thinking about why it is that the devil has sought woman to do such things to her, to make her feel like she is incapable and render her speechless through various methods of control. Why is it that Satan sees women as such a threat?

This morning, I am reminded of Roman’s 8:38-39 NIV:

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There is no truth more powerful than this: that nothing can separate us from the love of God. In the past, I have heard it expressed that we need to control our emotions and be careful of what we feel as if we shouldn’t feel or have emotions. While anything can be used for evil, this is one that, if used in the right direction, it can become a very powerful thing.

What makes women so different is that we are gifted with the ability to feel and express those feelings at a deep level. Not to say that men aren’t able to, but it seems to come more easily for women.

So ladies, let me ask you this: what if you were able to take that gift and use it as a powerful tool. This gift may take some time to learn to use it effectively, but what if your ability to express your deepest feeling and emotion also gave you the ability to cause change in this world.

I truly believe that women hold a special place in Gods heart. Just think about how many women were at the cross. When we love, we can love big. We cannot allow the world around us to control us to the point that we cannot love. This is something that I have struggled with as peoples true colors come out. It is when things are tough that you find out who your true friends are, and it can be difficult to forgive.

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Matthew 22:37 NIV

Anyone that allows themselves to love, and even love big, has the ability to love the Lord in ways that really touches his heart. Why else would Jesus mention it?

While I have a great home surrounded by people who love me, I am faced with a world outside my home that seeks to shut me up telling me that I don’t have a place outside the home. I once thought that this ideology was a thing of the past and that civilization had begun to realize that women have something great to offer, but it seems that the world really hasn’t changed. I could get angry with the world, but I need to remember who it is that controls it – Satan.

And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 NIV

He controls the world and anyone who submits to it, but he only has power, or control, over people and things that he is given by either you and me, or by God. Someone has to give Satan control over something, whether knowingly or unknowingly, but remember this: control can be taken back.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 NIV

Any control over us can be submitted to the Lord Jesus to deal with them, and we also have the power to say no and deal with that entity in the spirit realm through prayer. Through prayer, we have the power to conquer evil; as the Word tells us,

They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

Revelation 12:11 NIV

We also need to remember that we need to be careful not to let the devil take a foothold.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NIV

I could go on as to how we can be successful in our lives through prayer, but I must challenge you to dig deep into the Bible to learn what steps we must take to not only be victorious in life but how to stay victorious.

Through prayer and study of Gods Word, the unimaginable is able to take place. And it is through the blood of Jesus Christ that we have access to an all-powerful God. Seek the Lord today and learn what it is to take refuge in Jesus and become victorious.

Go forth and be blessed my friend.
