This morning, I was awaken to some specific words from the Lord.

This morning, as we all awaken, we find ourselves in a new normal. This new normal seeks to engulf our hearts with fear as what most of us have feared is now becoming a reality.

It is a natural thing that our bodies do – react in fear towards hardship and times of the unknown. Our reactions are enveloped with experiences of our past, because, well, we’ve all endured hardship, or some sort of difficulties, in our lives that has caused us to be more cautious and experience stress a little easier. We are emotional beings, and God loves us that way. It is the way that he created us.

This is our new normal – waking up to schools being closed and the threat of a virus standing at our doorsteps. But what God spoke to me this morning was that he wants us to press in and go a little deeper. Not only shoudld we go a little deeper to understand what is going on around us but also a little deeper to see what God sees in this time we find ourselves.

Additionally, as I began my coffee time with God, he also led me to a particular passage that moved me to tears once I read it. The passage came from 2 Corinthians 5:16-23 (NIV):

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

To go deeper, we must press in. To press in, we must stand firm, being adamant (refusing to be persuaded otherwise) pressing onward to seek God for strength and answers on how to live in this new normal. And above all things, we must seek full reconciliation with God when pressing in so that we can go deeper.

As we read Gods Word, we must remember to include all of it. While it can be difficult to choose to read about what God says about the “end of days”, we must do so, because, well, it’s the rest of our story. To read about the “end of days” is to also learn where we stand with God in those days.

We are not ever forgotten by God, and it is his entire Word that communicates this.

Today, be adamant to seek God about where you are and what you are experiencing. God seeks reconciliation with you. Will today be that day that you decide to go deeper and press in?
